How Could God Allow This?

"How could a loving God allow all this evil in the world?" - This question is deeply rooted in the hearts of many people and has led to numerous theological discussions throughout history. The Bible offers various perspectives on this question.

Wie kann Gott das zulassen?

In Genesis, the creation story is told, in which God creates the world and considers it good. However, the free will of humans is also emphasized, which allows them to turn away from God and thus bring suffering and injustice into the world (Genesis 2:16-17).

The book of Job extensively addresses the topic of suffering. Job, a righteous man, undergoes severe trials and wonders why God allows it. Although he does not receive a clear answer, he finds comfort in knowing that God is sovereign over all and will ultimately be just to him (Job 42:1-6).

In the Gospels, we also find Jesus' words about suffering and the importance of faith and trust in God. Jesus himself experienced suffering and injustice, but he taught that God is close to those who suffer and that the kingdom of God belongs to those who are poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3-12).

Ultimately, the Bible shows that God does not cause suffering, but that it is part of human existence. Nevertheless, it offers comfort and hope by showing that God is with those who suffer and that ultimately, everything can lead to good (Romans 8:28).
